They pull you over for exhaust noise. Then they ask you to rev it. Don't.
The moment you rev that engine on request, you're giving them the reading they need to write you up and send you to the State Referee.
A State Ref referral means your car gets inspected by the Bureau of Automotive Repair, and if it doesn't pass, it can't be registered until it does.
That's a whole different level of headache.
If they ask you to rev it, politely decline.
You're not required to help them build their case.
