his is Ask Brad Kane Law. And under the heading of, Be Careful What You Ask For, a woman in Canada challenged her dismissal, saying that there was no grounds to fire her. Well, it turned out the employer had tracking software that showed that she had not worked 50 hours that she claimed, and she said she was working on paper, but they proved that the printer didn’t print anything or very little, and so she ends up having to pay them $2,800. So before you go suing your employer, you might wanna make sure that you have actually worked the hours you claim, or it can be a major problem.
The flip side is we all have to worry about what restrictions there should be on employers putting tracking software on our own personal devices, especially if we’re doing work from home. This is Ask Brad Kane Law.
