However, it can be hard to receive the proper credit you deserve for your choreography.

That's why we're in the process of building an online space where protecting your intellectual property will be a breeze. 💨

No more confusion on ownership and credit. We're giving the power back to the dance community. 🙌

Black creators on TikTok are tired of the lack of credit for their choreography 🙅🏽‍♀️

Not receiving credit for their creativity and original work, all while watching white influencers being rewarded with millions of views performing dances they didn't create is infuriating!

In July 2021, many black creators on TikTok joined a widespread strike, refusing to create any new dances until credit was given where it's due.

The hashtag "BlackTikTokStrike" has now been viewed more than 8 million times.

But how many black creators are still struggling not only to get the recognition they deserve but dealing with antagonism from those who don't understand why receiving that credit is so important in the first place? 🤨

Black creators are tired of their work being stolen without credit! 💥

When Addison Rae appeared on the Jimmy Fallon Show to teach a number of viral dances, she was followed by backlash after it was pointed out that many of the dances she was performing were created by Black artists.

This has been an ongoing problem across TikTok and other social media platforms.

Fortnite copied Ana Coto’s viral roller-skating dance from TikTok, to use as one of their emotes, and they didn't credit her. 🤯

After she called them out by posting a video of her original TikTok next to a clip of Fortnite’s nearly identical dance emote Freewheelin’, they came clean about the dance as having been “inspired” by her moves.

She eventually worked with the game to create another skate-themed emote. But imagine what she would have missed out on if she didn't spot it! 🤭

Forbes recently released a new highest-paid influencer list, and not a single black TikTok creator was mentioned! 👀

With their TikTok fame, white influencers have pulled beauty campaigns, record deals and multi-film deals... Opportunities that aren’t available to their Black counterparts.

Charli D’Amelio, who has 133 million followers was ranked at #1 on the Forbes list, but Khaby Lame who has nearly 127 million followers didn't get a mention. 🤯

Black TikTokers who create viral dances are asking the platform's most popular teens to properly credit their work. 🙅🏽‍♀️

Crediting a choreographer is essential! Dances are no longer just a fun, hobby on the platform, but a way to provide income and become famous!

Bryan Sanon the creator of the '100 Racks Challenge' trend had something to say about Black creators being uncredited👇

"It’s like you make something and it comes from you and your soul or your brain, and someone else who is more popular or in a different position takes it and you don’t get recognized for it."

It should be common practice to give a nod to someone who created original choreography. We want it to become widespread!

"Caught a vibe, baby are you coming for the ride?" 💃

You must have seen this viral dance trend to WILLOW's "Meet Me At Our Spot", which took over TikTok in September 2021.

But did you know who created it? Probably not. 🤷

We have TikToker 'lancesavali1' to thank when he posted a video creating the iconic "hitting an ice in my veins pose".

Many people have copied the dance including TikToker 'cpizzle95', who posted a video that gained over 24 million views in just three days, whereas the original received 18 million.

❗The time to copyright your choreography is now❗

A new study has revealed that scammers are stealing videos from TikTok and reposting them to YouTube Shorts, racking up millions of views and gaining tens of thousands of subscribers. 🤯

Videos are being stolen from TikTok - including dance challenges - in an effort to generate an income from advertisements and brand deals from their channels.

Scammers can generate a relatively healthy income by duping users of social media websites to click links pinned at the top of the comments of their YouTube Short videos.

One video alone from YouTube shorts earned 10 million views! 😱
