Section 3 is the part of your Amazon contract you signed without reading. It's also the part that can take everything. In plain terms, Section 3 lets Amazon:
Terminate your account for deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity — as Amazon defines it. Withhold your funds during investigation. Keep them permanently if it stands by the finding. No court order required. You agreed to it.

When "Section 3" appears in a deactivation email, Amazon isn't citing a policy slip. It's invoking its most severe contractual weapon. Answer it with matching seriousness — or watch the contract work exactly as written.

A false copyright claim took down your listing. The DMCA counter notice can bring it back. But read this before you file: A counter notice is a sworn legal statement — under penalty of perjury.
File it wrongly, and you've created evidence against yourself. File it correctly, and the claimant has a choice: Sue you in federal court within the window — or your content comes back.
Most bad-faith claimants disappear when the bluff gets called. Because that's what most of these takedowns are: bluffs. Know your rights. File it right. Take the listing back.

It sounds unglamorous. It's also what saves accounts.
Strong sourcing documentation is your defense across nearly every type of Amazon enforcement:
Section 3 deactivations
IP complaints
Unsuitable inventory flags
Related accounts investigations
In every one of these, Amazon asks you to prove something. Sellers with organized invoices and supplier records can. Sellers scrambling to reconstruct paperwork mid-suspension usually can't.
