The 2026 ACC Conference kicks off at 2 PM on TODAY, and we're ready to welcome more than 500 Arkansas community college administrators, faculty, and staff to Hot Springs for three days of learning, collaboration, and connection!

We are shining a spotlight on Weston Garcia. Congratulations on being named the Southern Arkansas University Tech Academic All-Star!

SAU Tech is proud to announce Weston Garcia as its Academic All-Star. Weston has distinguished himself through academics by maintaining a 3.58 GPA while pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Engineering Technology. After completing his studies at SAU Tech, he plans to continue his education at Southern Arkansas University to earn his bachelor's degree. Weston is dedicated to expanding his knowledge and preparing for a successful future in the aerospace and defense industry. His commitment to academic achievement, perseverance, and personal growth make him a deserving recipient of the Arkansas Academic All-Star Scholarship.

A standing ovation for Ella Hyde on being named the recipient of the 2026 ASU Mid-South Academic All-Star Award!

Ella Hyde is a student-athlete pursuing her Associate of Science in Health Studies. She has managed to juggle the challenges of the classroom and the demands of the field while working part-time. Ella’s coach calls her, “the definition of a student-athlete always on top of her studies, with a 4.0 GPA, and a great ambassador for our institution.” She is also a member of PTK. After graduation, Ella plans to enroll in an MRI program to become an MRI technologist. She likes the idea of working behind the scenes while still playing an important role in diagnosing and helping patients.

🎉 Today we honor Chloe Nolte for being named the 2026 Southeast Arkansas College Academic All-Star.

SEARK College congratulates our 2026 ACC Academic All-Star, Chloe Nolte. Chloe is working toward an Associate in General Studies while also seeking a CP in Phlebotomy. Chloe is an exemplary scholar who consistently demonstrates academic excellence and leadership potential. A self-starter and natural leader, Chloe is actively involved in the Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa, and the SEARK Garden Club, where she helps provide fresh produce to the community. Known for her kindness and responsibility, she even brings school spirit to life by suiting up as the SEARK Shark at campus events. Chloe truly embodies what it means to be a SEARK Shark.

🌟 Let’s give a round of applause to Joe Phillips for being named the 2026 University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Academic All-Star.

Joe Phillips is the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Academic All-Star. Phillips is pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Business. After graduation, he plans to transfer to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville to major in accounting. His long-term goal is to establish his own accounting firm. During his time at UAHT, Phillips has consistently demonstrated academic excellence and leadership. He has been named to the Dean’s List each semester and received the Dean’s Emerging Leader Award in April 2025. In addition to his academic achievements, Phillips serves as president of the Student Government Association on the Hope Campus.

ACC Executive Director Dr. Collin Callaway recently joined the Jacksonville Rotary Club to share how community colleges are meeting workforce needs across Arkansas.

With nearly 30,000 Arkansans enrolling in community college workforce training programs each year, Dr. Callaway highlighted three important factors driving student and workforce success: early access to college opportunities for high school students, supportive services that help students complete their training, and strong partnerships with employers.

These efforts do more than prepare students for jobs. They help Arkansas businesses find skilled workers, create opportunities for families, and strengthen local economies.

🎮 The final level of conference planning is complete!

Since December, community college professionals from across Arkansas have been meeting monthly to plan, brainstorm, and bring the 2026 ACC Conference to life. Last week, the ACC Conference Board gathered in Little Rock for one final planning session before we head to Hot Springs in a few days!

From developing engaging professional development opportunities to finding new ways to connect colleagues across the state, this group has worked hard to make this year's conference one to remember!

🌟 Please join us in celebrating LeAnthony Henderson, the 2026 University of Arkansas-East Arkansas Community College Academic All-Star!

LeAnthony is a driven nontraditional student who demonstrates integrity, perseverance, and a positive attitude. He earned Dean’s List recognition, reflecting academic performance and commitment to excellence. After completing the Major Appliance program, he chose to continue his education to deepen his business knowledge in support of his career at FedEx Freight. He shows initiative, teamwork, and a strong work ethic by managing multiple small businesses and serving as a positive example to peers. After graduating in Fall 2026, he plans to attend the University of Arkansas to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business and ultimately build his own trucking franchise.
