When taking care of estate planning, another component to keep in mind is your Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Release (HIPAA) form. This form names people who will have access to your healthcare information. It helps protect your private information by only allowing only approved individuals have access to your information.

Healthcare power of attorney or proxy is an important part of estate planning. This document assigns the person that will make health care decisions for you if you are unable to for some reason. When choosing your proxy, make sure to find someone you can trust and discuss your desires with them. The document then puts their wishes in writing.
