This is the largest consumer protection settlement around big tech in history. According to the article, "North Carolina is slated to receive up to $645 million through 2035 from the settlement. Attorney General Jackson is encouraging the General Assembly to use the money to fund after-school and summer school programs across the state, crisis helplines for struggling children, and school health personnel."

Today, AG Jeff Jackson announced a landmark $645M settlement with Meta alongside Governor Josh Stein and Superintendent Mo Green. Meta will make major updates to protect teens, including a two-hour time limit and nighttime blocks on Instagram and Facebook.
