I am honored to announce that for the 9th consecutive year, I have be named a Massachusetts "Super Lawyer" for Plaintiff Personal Injury law. Candidates for "Super Lawyers" are nominated, independently researched, and peer reviewed. Only 5% of attorneys in their field are selected. The selections are published by Thomson Reuters in its annual magazine and in The Boston Globe.

I would be remiss if I didn't recognize and share that I could not have reached this level of success helping our physically and psychologically injured clients in our communities without the hard work and dedication of my legal assistant, Scott Bokun. Scott simply makes me a better lawyer.

I also want to thank the Keenan Trial Institute - Don Keenan, its instructors, and members for their teachings, guidance, and inspiration. And I want to acknowledge my colleagues of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers, on which I hold positions on the Executive Committee and Board of Governors, for their willingness to assist each other endlessly.

We will continue to represent victims of others' carelessness and recklessness against individuals and companies.

Over the past 30+ years of representing personal injury victims, we have seen our share of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). Concussions are the most common and can have devastating effects. Other types, such as brain bleeds, can be life-threatening. Still, much is misunderstood by the public.

This month, March, is Brain Injury Awareness month. The firm honors clients, personal friends, and all those who suffer brain injuries by donating to support the essential work done by the Brain Injury Association of America. A wealth of information can be found on its website: https://www.biausa.org/public-affairs/public-awareness/brain-injury-awareness.

Please take some time and learn about brain injuries and spread public awareness. And, if I may ask, please consider making a donation of any amount.

During Brain Injury Awareness Month, help the 5.3 million people in the U.S. who are living with a permanent brain injury-related disability.

Attorney Goldberg recently chaired a program for the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA) on "How to be successful with Alternative Dispute Resolution," which generally refers to mediation and arbitration. In the current state of the courts, where trials are scarce and while we continue to fight for to get trial dates, in the meantime we lawyers need to find ways to keep our clients' case moving toward resolution without sacrificing the principles or values of their case. After selecting a panel of 6 - 3 arbitrators/mediators and 3 trial lawyers - Scott moderated a lively discussion. The seminar was well-received and many insights were shared.

Thank you for your suggestions on and off-line for our February donation. All of the suggestions are worthy organizations and we will keep them in mind for the future.

This month we have chosen The Scleroderma Foundation.
The Scleroderma Foundation, a 501(c)(3) entity, states its mission as follows: (1) Support to help patients and their families cope with scleroderma through mutual support programs, peer counseling, physician referrals, and educational information; (2) Education to promote public awareness and education through patient and health professional seminars, literature, and publicity campaigns; and (3) Research to stimulate and support research to improve treatments and, ultimately, find the cause and cure of scleroderma and related diseases.

The law firm has been on the move, both literally and figuratively. First, we have renamed the firm, and more importantly, we have now relocated our main office from downtown Boston to Lexington. Our new suite at Custance Place is designed to assist us to better connect with and represent our clients, personal injury victims. We will continue to maintain a Boston presence at our long-standing address.
We have also updated our design to a more modern look while maintaining our logo, which came to me and was first sketched on a loose piece of paper. (Those of you who know me well may see the meaning behind the logo design.)
Stay tuned for more new information about our move and firm developments coming soon.

As we move forward each month, we are selecting a charity to make a donation. In honor of our move to Lexington, our chosen charity for the month for January is the Fund For Lexington. The Fund For Lexington helps individuals and families who are suffering temporary hardships by providing essentials such as grocery cards, emergency fuel assistance, and funds to buy winter clothes. We are honored to support our community.

Today I had the honor and privilege of Chairing and moderating an educational program for the Mass. Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA). The focus and title was "Successful Mediation and Arbitration in the Age of Covid," meaning representing plaintiffs using Zoom and other remote platforms. From the feedback we received our participants gained a lot of information, ideas and suggestions. I want to thank the presenters, the participants and MATA.
