Penry Terry & Mitchell LLP was established in 2020 after Penry & Mitchell, PLLC in Lexington merged with Terry Law, PLLC in Mocksville. And our new office in Winston-Salem is located at 112 S Spruce Street, 336-397-4529. Dawn Mitchell is the managing partner of
the Lexington office. Dawn first served as a certified paralegal for Phyllis Penry before deciding to pursue her own legal career. Mitchell was admitted to the bar in 2014 and has been practicing in Lexington ever since with an extensive background in family law. Dawn recently earned her mediator certification and plans to begin mediating family law cases. Wendy Terry is the managing partner of the Mocksville office. Wendy has been in practice since 1997, and for twelve of those years she served as an Assistant District Attorney in Davie and Davidson counties. Terry began private practice in 2018 focusing on criminal, family, and juvenile law. Phyllis Penry, of counsel to Penry Terry & Mitchell LLP, was the first female attorney in the area and blazed the path for women in this judicial district. Phyllis is a lifelong resident of Davidson County and was admitted to the bar in 1975. Penry has spent time as an Assistant District Attorney in Davidson County as well as serving as the attorney for the City of Lexington. Julie Parker serves as an associate in our Mocksville office. Born in Washington, D.C., Julie was raised in Montgomery County, Maryland by a teacher and a federal government worker. She attended Wake Forest University earning her B.A. in 1987. Julie worked in the insurance industry and as a paralegal until being licensed to practice law in North Carolina where she has handled Family Law, Juvenile, Criminal, Wills, Mediation, and Special Proceedings, as well as other matters for over 30 years. Julie is an active member and Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Mocksville, serving in Vacation Bible School and Christian Education. She serves on several community boards, including the Davie County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council and the Davie Advocacy Center. Julie is also a member of the Old Rowan Fiber Guild and an avid knitter. Together with her husband, Michael, she has raised two children in the Davie County Public Schools and was a proud band and basketball mom. Ruth Bradshaw is located in our Winston-Salem office. At Penry Terry Mitchell LLP, Ruth I. Bradshaw is instrumental to the law office's goal to zealously advocate for clients. She is an experienced attorney who has built a strong reputation for herself in the North Carolina counties of Forsyth, Davidson, and Davie. To accomplish this, she worked hard since receiving her license in 2006 to hone her trial, negotiation, research, and communication skills. Bradshaw has always had a professional interest in working with families. In fact, she completed her undergraduate degree in family and child development and graduated Magna cm laude from Virginia Tech. After several years, she decided to support families from a different angle as their legal advocate. So, she completed her J.D. at the North Carolina Central University School of Law where she graduated cm laude. After becoming licensed in 2006 to practice in North Carolina, Ms. Bradshaw continued to add to her professional accomplishments by becoming a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law, a Certified Parenting Coordinator, and a Certified Mediator in Family Financial Settlements. Even outside of the courtroom, Ms. Bradshaw is active within the legal field. She has spoken at several seminars and is a member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, where she served as co-editor and editor of the Family Forum Newsletter in 2012 to 2014. James Downey serves as an associate in our Lexington office. James, a North Carolina resident since 1996, has over 10 years of practice in civil litigation and primarily focuses on family law. Morgan Ryerson serves as an associate in our Lexington office. Morgan is originally from Jamestown, North Carolina, after graduating high school she remained local and attended High Point University and received her B.A. in Criminal Justice in two years. After working for a short time as a paralegal in a family law firm in Greensboro, Morgan decided to return to school to pursue her law degree. While in law school, Morgan participated in several activities including: Phi Alpha Delta, Lawyer on the Line, Moot Court, and the Innocence Project. Victoria Prince serves as an associate attorney our Lexington office. Victoria is a recent graduate of the Elon University School of Law and focuses on family law. During her time at Elon University, Ms. Prince volunteered in their Elder Law Clinic and was president of the Elder Law Society. Victoria also founded their Criminal Law Society and served as its first president.
