Our resident expert in Law and Corpus Linguistics and managing director is a scholar that the courts listen too.
His article, Temporary Officers, 26 Geo. Mason L. Rev. 753 (2019), was cited by the Second Circuit in its majority opinion in United States v. Donziger, a major appointments clause case concerning the constitutionality of special prosecutors appointed pursuant to Rule 42 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedures. Even though he may not agree with the decision of the majority, hell take the cite! Check out FN 3.
Although this isn't a Corpus-Based article it shows that James Heilpern is listened to in all aspects of law. Congratulation James.

What is the meaning of this law? What is the context? What does this policy mean? What does this contract state? What was meant upon this amendment?

Corpus Linguistics can help legal profession understand these questions. This is why this practice is revolutionising the law industry!

The study of corpus linguistics sheds a light on the meaning of words at the time they were used. In modern corpus linguistics, scholars create a massive digital database (or corpus) of texts and then search the corpus for particular terms to see how they are used in context. Having this information in an easily searchable tool is changing the study and practice of law.

Corpus linguistics is an approach to language research that utilizes a principled collection of texts (i.e., a corpus) in order to better understand patterns of language use. Analysis of these patterns can produce insight into, among other things, the meaning of words and phrases. Linguists (and lexicographers) have long understood that corpora are a vastly superior guide to interpretation than native speaker intuition or even dictionaries. With advances in computer technology, the use of corpus linguistics for research has expanded dramatically. Legal scholars and judges have only recently begun to tap the potential of this method because most are unaware of its possibilities.
