💥💥Friendly, legal PSA💥💥: It’s important to approach legal documents with a critical eye.
First off, it’s crucial to understand that only licensed attorneys can create your legal documents. Anyone else, like a notary public or someone with a “Google” law degree, can’t legally prepare them. This is considered practicing law without a license, which is against the law.
Second, to protect your family and friends, please don’t sign a will or trust without an attorney’s review. This also applies to deeds. I’ve noticed several of people filling out generic legal documents that aren’t actually valid including “fill-in-the-blank” documents printed from a website that are not state specific. Also, always read what you’re signing! If you do not understand your current estate plan, please have an attorney review it to ensure it’s the best fit for you. Estate plans are not one-size-fits-all!
Thanks y’all!! ❤️
