A reminder to be careful with suspicious text messages you receive. A recent article from ALTA details a fraud scheme being used to access peer-to-peer payment services, specifically Zelle, and gain access to bank accounts.

Never call the number listed on a suspicious email or text, always reach out to a trusted phone number if you have questions.

Changes are coming to student loan servicing this year. We live in a digital age where statements are frequently not printed out and we assume we can always log in and get account information. But if your loan servicer changes, this information may no longer be available. To protect yourself during this change in servicers you should download and print your loan information including current balance, interest rate and payment history. Then, once you gain access to your new servicers online system, verify that the numbers are the same (although there may be additional accrued interest depending on how long the conversation takes). Have the information to protect yourself from any mistakes in transition.
