Michael Schwartz, PA, had its beginnings in 1980 in Prairie Village, Kansas. Mike Schwartz worked for a well-respected firm in Kansas City, Kansas, where he honed his skills in trial work, criminal law, personal injury law and workers’ compensation. Wanting to start a practice where he could more personally serve his clients, Mike opened his doors as a solo attorney. In addition to his work with i
ndividual clients who need help with divorce, on-going child custody disputes, wills, bankruptcies, worker’s compensation claims and other legal issues, Mike has developed long-term working relationships with business clients throughout the country. HOW WE WORK WITH YOIU
At LMSPA, we work hard to provide individuals and businesses the same level of service that large law firms provide to their largest clients, but at rates that are reasonable. We know you want an attorney you can talk to, so personal service is a hallmark of our practice. It means that we try to return every client phone call or email promptly, preferably in the same day we receive it. Of course, this is not always possible, but we do our best to be responsive to your needs. INITIAL CONSULTATION
Your initial consultation is free. We encourage prospective clients to “comparison shop” in order to obtain second opinions or to compare our fees and services with those of other attorneys. STANDARD LETTER OF ENGAGEMENT
We use a standard form of engagement letter. However, each engagement requires a determination of the need for a retainer, discussion of expected costs and, in some cases, negotiation of rates. We typically ask for retainers when working with new clients that were not referred to us from a standard referral source, in matters where we are acting as local counsel, in litigation where there will be substantial up-front costs, and in other cases where we want a commitment from our client as to the matter engaged.
