Attorney Rachael Groffsky is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Thomas M. In law school, from 2006-2008, she interned for the Eaton County Prosecutors Office in
Lansing, Michigan for almost three years, deciding that criminal law was her passion. She started her legal career working for Legal Aid of North Carolina in April 2009, focusing primarily on domestic violence cases on the Cherokee Indian Reservation. In January 2010, she transitioned to the 43rd Prosecutorial District in Western North Carolina as an assistant district attorney where she prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor, traffic, and felony offenses including armed robbery's, drug trafficking cases, aggravated assaults and murders. In 2015, she moved to the Buncombe County District Attorney's Office as the sole s*x crimes prosecutor. Her prosecutorial focus included child s*x crimes, adult s*x crimes, and domestic violence cases. She prosecuted there until October 2016 when she made the move to Atlanta, Georgia. After moving to Georgia, she joined the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office in February 2017 and remained until December 31st, 2020. There, Rachael prosecuted hundreds of felony cases, including armed robbery's, aggravated assaults, drug cases, and murders. In February 2021, Rachael transitioned to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office as a Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney over the Complex Trial Division, supervising numerous attorney's who tried serious and violent felonies. In October 2021, Rachael decided to go out on her own and open Groffsky Law, LLC. Groffsky Law specializes in criminal law cases ranging from the criminal offenses themselves to post conviction relief and records restriction. Rachael resides in Gwinnett County and holds both her Georgia and North Carolina bar license.
