We are holding our annual Food & Fund Drive for The Regional Food Bank until Wednesday, November 20. Every $1 donated provides 4 meals for those in need in our community.

The Regional Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that collects donated food from the food industry and distributes it to more than 1,000 partner agencies and programs feeding our neighbors in need throughout 23 counties of northeastern New York. The food provided by the Regional Food Bank helps to feed over 350,000 people each month. In 2023, the Food Bank distributed more than 48 million pounds of food (enough for 40 million meals) to our neighbors in need.

For those that don’t know, yesterday was a potentially big day for the real estate market. The Federal Reserve held their March conference where they came in “dove-ish” on inflation and maintained “dot plots” that indicate they still intend to cut interest rates 3 times prior to conclusion of this year (and IF things continue trending in the right direction, there could be another 2 cuts in the first quarter of 2025). The thing that’s easy to overlook about the importance of rate cuts is that It affects so much more than just the mortgage market… Decreased interest rates affect car loans, CREDIT CARD debt, business loans, unemployment, stock markets, etc. etc. Consumers have more money in their pockets and more buying power. The First rate cut is anticipated in May/June and this SHOULD (in theory) stimulate an increase in housing inventory, buying and refinancing motivation, etc. It has been an extremely trying 18 months for all of those in the real estate industry BUT if you’re still in it - you survived! After having listened to every word uttered by Fed Chair Powell, we could potentially see the light at the end of this long dark tunnel 🙏… Stay positive. Stay grinding and go out every single day and MAKE it happen!

Once again, we are astounded by the generosity and kindness of our employees.

In order to give back to the community this holiday season we adopted a family through the Albany County Department for Children, Youth and Families Adopt-A-Family Program. Since its inception more than 36 years ago, the Adopt-A-Family Program has helped make the holidays a special time for hundreds of children and families in our community. In 2022 alone the program was able to help over 370 families in Albany county.

Thank you to our staff for pulling together everything on the wishlist for this family so that they can have a very happy holiday season!

Caridi Payne & Associates LLC is glad to announce that Attorney Andrew Bigness has joined our Firm, as of Counsel.

Andrew’s practice for the past several years has primarily focused on residential and commercial real estate transactions and title matters. He currently serves as co-chair of the Schenectady County Bar Association real estate committee.

After graduating Albany Law School, Andrew spent a number of years working in government. He entered private practice in 2018, working alongside two experienced solo practitioners and gaining a wealth of experience in several areas of Law, before eventually joining a well respected local real estate law firm. It was at that firm where Andrew began to focus his practice on all matters relating to real estate. Over the past few years Andrew has become a fixture at closing tables throughout the greater Capital Region.

I initially met Andrew as a classmate at Albany Law School. It wasn’t until meeting many years later at a real estate closing, where I witnessed Andrew guide his Client through the closing process with zeal, confidence and good humor, bringing a sense of ease during what CAN be a stressful time. I watched as Andrew drew from his knowledge of real estate and contract law to navigate some tricky matters that arose during the closing. He worked diligently to protect and preserve his Clients’ rights. In that moment I knew Andrew’s ideology and mission aligned with ours and that an alliance would be mutually beneficial for both Andrew and for our Firm.

After several meetings and discussions, we are thrilled that Andrew has officially joined our Firm! We look forward to assisting Andrew continue to hone and expand upon his knowledge of real estate and contract law; to help foster and develop relationships with referral partners and most importantly to have Andrew assist in helping our Firm continue to grow and build towards the future!
