Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada

Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada Provider of free civil legal services to low-income Southern Nevadans

We are the primary legal safety net that changes the lives of low-income, vulnerable people in our community every day. Since 1958, our organization has represented low-income individuals in Clark County with civil legal matters such as domestic violence, fraud against the elderly, representing youth in the child welfare system, and defending working people against scams and financial predators. W

e become the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves in important legal matters that affect their well-being, their future, and even their ability to survive. The cases accepted are based on merit and highest need—victims of domestic violence, children, the elderly, victims of financial predators, active military, and veterans.

It was great to attend the Grant a Gift Autism Foundation Ackerman Center's IEP resource fair to share information about our Education Advocacy Program and other services.

If you're interested in helping our most vulnerable students as a Volunteer Education Advocate, please call 702-386-1070, ext 1446, or email [email protected]. We provide all training and support to volunteers, who ensure that schools are meeting students' disability-related needs.

Since taking her first pro bono case in 2024, Summer Squires of Cohen Fic & Squires has provided legal services to numerous clients across several of our practice areas.

In dependency and guardianship matters, she represents vulnerable children and guides them to safe and loving homes. In family law cases, she handles complex divorce and custody issues, providing an imperative voice to those in tenuous personal situations. As a dedicated volunteer with our Ask-A-Lawyer Program, she provides crucial legal advice to domestic violence victims.

For her deep commitment that has changed countless lives, we celebrate Summer as our September 2026 Volunteer of the Month!

We are deeply saddened by the passing of the Honorable Jackie Glass. Judge Glass was a strong and respected leader in our legal community, whose years of service on the Eighth Judicial District Court left a lasting impact on justice in Southern Nevada.

Her dedication, integrity, and warmth will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing or working with her. Our hearts go out to all of her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

It's attorneys like Marina Dalia-Hunt, Team Chief of our Education Advocacy Program, who make Legal Aid Center a refuge for the most vulnerable. She was the driving force behind our recent $1.5 million settlement with Clark County School District (CCSD) on behalf of 23 foster children with dyslexia.

You can learn more about Marina in the June 2026 issue of the State Bar of Nevada's Nevada Lawyer, where she was featured as a trailblazer and champion for our community.
