Nevada is a strict liability state with a twist: owners can be held liable for a first bite or attack if it can be shown the owner knew or should have known the dog had dangerous tendencies. This is sometimes called the "dangerous propensity" rule.

What counts as "knowing"? It doesn't have to mean a previous bite. Evidence can include:
•The dog growling, lunging, or snapping at people before
•The owner warning others to "watch out" for the dog
•Breed-specific aggression training
•Neighbors or visitors who witnessed aggressive behavior
If none of that exists, complications arise and the case gets harder. Often shifting towards a general negligence claim instead.

On October 1st, 2017. A great tragedy occurred during the Route 91 Harvest music festival, in which 60 lives were taken from us. Since this night, our city has determined itself to show not just ourselves, but the world that we can overcome. Today we honor the 60 lives lost, those wounded during the event, and the families of all affected by that night.

Last week, our team headed down to Main Street for the weekly Humpday Rides. While we were there, we handed out some of our “Rider Down” cards, which provide cyclists with general information about what steps to consider if they’re involved in a crash with a vehicle.

We had the chance to speak with several riders and event organizers, and one thing we heard repeatedly was that many cyclists aren’t sure what to do immediately after a crash. That’s why we created these wallet sized cards to give riders a simple resource they can keep with them, just in case they ever need it.

We’ll be back on Main Street tomorrow with more Rider Down cards, rubber duckies , and our team ready to say hello. If you see us, come by and introduce yourself!
