Congratulations to Associate Kelsey Fleener, along with Tom Fleener and Jason Tangeman.

Kelsey had the honor of representing a family business devastated by disloyal managers. While the family was still grieving the recent loss of the company’s owner, those trusted managers secretly launched a competing company thereby irreparably devaluing the original company. The jury found those managers liable for breach of loyalty, constructive fraud, conversion and trade libel.

Kelsey fought to protect the family business’s legacy—and the jury delivered justice: a $3.9 million dollar verdict plus punitive damages and attorney’s fees in Sweetwater County, Wyoming.

Way to go, Kelsey!👏

Fleener Petersen has had a hell of a 2023. We need to do a better job of providing updates. Hats off to Devon Petersen though. In the past two weeks Devon has saved two young men’s lives in back-to-back felony acquittals in Cheyenne. Not Guilty to Aggravated assault and Not Guilty to Sexual Assault. When you have one shot make it your best.

For Law Week, Partner Devon Petersen argued a Wyoming Supreme Court appeal at the University of Wyoming College of Law. It was standing room only and Devon absolutely nailed it! Can you say, ”Reversed and remanded for a new trial?” We didn’t represent this young man at his jury trial, rather we were hired to try and reverse his wrongful conviction. Fleener Petersen achieves a hat trick, back to back to back acquittals. For the third time since the courts have re-opened in 2021, our attorneys earned another full acquittal, this time in an Air Force court-martial. A young man’s Air Force career and freedom was saved by Tom Fleener’s aggressive representation. Remember, it’s easy to call yourself a trial attorney. Partner Tom Fleener had his first jury trial in over a year due to COVID-19-- he achieved a quick acquittal on a sexual assault case in Carbon County. Most of the folks who come through our office have never been in trouble and don't know the criminal justice system. The most important step in finding a good lawyer is to find a trial lawyer, someone who doesn't just advertise that they are a trial lawyer, but someone who has a proven track record of holding the government's feet to the fire and winning at trial. At the end of the day, you have one shot to preserve your freedom and livelihood.

2020 is off to a good start for Fleener Petersen and most importantly our clients! Partner Devon Petersen was able to get felony charges dismissed at the preliminary hearing. Associate Kelsey Fleener, serving as civilian defense counsel in an Air Force general court-martial was able to get charges dismissed prior to court-martial.
