Update from our garden: We planted watermelon...

These grew instead.

A wheelbarrow full of pumpkins, and not one watermelon. I’m not sure how it happened, but we’re calling it a "win".

They’re now decorating our porch steps at home and the front of our new downtown St. Johns office, so if you’re downtown, come see them in person!

I say this at the end of every transaction, but I mean it every time: Getting to know my clients throughout the buying and/or selling process is one of my absolute favorite parts of this job. So when a transaction closes, it's always a little bittersweet.

I met Ben at an open house I was hosting almost a year ago. Since then, we've toured 50+ homes together, found "the one," closed on "the one," listed his first home, and now - SOLD it. 🏡

Ben and Olivia have been so much fun to work alongside, and I'm genuinely going to miss our daily texts and calls!

What does a homebuyer actually need from an agent in the Greater Lansing, Mid-Michigan area?

Real estate school teaches you how the process works. Clients, however, teach you what's actually riding on it - Someone's savings, their timeline, their story, etc.

You can know every contract and deadline like the back of your hand... but experience is what tells you when someone needs more information before they decide, when a question is really about something bigger, or when the right call is to slow down and regroup.

That part doesn't come from a textbook. You learn it by handling something that really matters to someone and realizing that knowing the rules is only the starting point.

The longer I do this, the clearer it gets: Expertise isn't just knowing what's next. It's making sure the person across from you does, too.

How to spot an agent worth referring in Mid-Michigan...!

It’s not just someone who knows the market or has a lot of closings under their belt. I mean, of course, that helps, too.

But, it's the agent who knows how to protect the people you send their way.

The agent worth referring to is the one who can tell when a repair is worth pushing for, when an offer needs a closer look, when the house has red flags your friend might miss, or when the best advice is, “I know you love it, but I do not think this is the one.”

You are trusting someone with your friend, your coworker, your neighbor, or your family member, and I never forget that there is a REAL relationship behind every name sent my way.

If a friend of yours is buying or selling in Mid-Michigan, send them my way! It would be my pleasure to serve them!
