This features Attorney Sandra Cabrera! Sandra is a partner at Waystack Frizzell in Colebrook, NH. She is a trial lawyer practicing civil litigation and appellate matters in federal and state court. Sandra’s trial experience is primarily in personal injury litigation. She also litigates general probate matters, land use cases, municipal law matters, social security disability applications and appeals, and non-profit formation and representation, among other areas.

In June 2022, Sandra will begin her term as the President of the NHBA. She has served on the NH Board of Governors in various roles since 2012. She previously served as the Coos County representative on the NHWBA Board of Directors, and she currently serves on the NHBA’s new committee on Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion. She also serves as a mentor to newer lawyers.

Sandra has lectured on the topic of “Solo/Small Firm Practices” for the NHBA CLE programs and presented on estate planning and incident reporting for Fire and Emergency Medical Services teams. In 2019 Sandra received the Robert E. Kirby Award from the NH Bar Foundation, which honors the memory of Robert E. Kirby and is given each year to an attorney under 35 years old who demonstrates the traits of civility, courtesy, perspective and excellent advocacy. In 2020, she was named to the NH Union Leader’s 40 Under Forty program.

Sandra also serves her community in Colebrook, NH. In 2019, she founded a nonprofit organization to take over a failing child care center, and obtained grants to expand access to child care in her community. Sandra is also currently serving on the Connecticut River Collaborative Exploratory Committee to participate in continued discussions on the future of education in northern Coos County. In recognition of her work with child care centers, Sandra received a 2020 Unsung Hero Award from the NH Children’s Trust.

Sandra received her B.S. in Environmental Policy from Rutgers and graduated magna cm laude from VT Law School in 2010, where she was the Associate Articles Editor of the VT Law Review. Before moving to Colebrook, she worked as a law clerk for the Strafford and Carroll County Superior Courts.
