DO YOU HAVE A WILL?

And if you do, when was the last time you looked at it?

Many people are surprised to learn that CR Law Center also prepares wills and assists with estate planning.

Itโ€™s easy to think, โ€œIโ€™m too young to need a will,โ€ or โ€œI donโ€™t own enough to worry about that yet.โ€
But having a will isnโ€™t only about how much you own. Itโ€™s about making your wishes known and giving the people you love clear direction when youโ€™re no longer able to make those decisions yourself.

A properly prepared will can address who you want to receive your property, who you want to handle your estate, and other important wishes. It can also help provide clarity for your family during what will already be an emotional and difficult time.

And if you already have a will, major life changes may be a good reason to have it reviewed. Marriage, divorce, the birth of a child or grandchild, purchasing property, or simply the passage of time can mean that the will you created years ago no longer reflects what you want today.

Estate planning is one of those things that is easy to put off for โ€œsomeday.โ€ You donโ€™t have to wait for someday.

๐Ÿ’œ Planning ahead is one more way to take care of the people you love.

๐Ÿ’œ Itโ€™s National Family Day! ๐Ÿ’œ

As the day winds down, take a little time this evening to slow down and enjoy the people who matter most.

Put the phones away for a while. Sit around the dinner table. Play a game. Take a walk. Watch a movie together. Ask your kids about their day. Laugh together. Make a memory, even if itโ€™s something simple. ๐Ÿ’œ

Life gets busy, schedules get full, and sometimes we forget that the ordinary moments together are often the ones that mean the most.

Tonight, celebrate National Family Day by simply being present with your family.

From our family at CR Law Center to yours, we hope you have a wonderful evening together. ๐Ÿ’œ

A childโ€™s wishes can be an important part of a custody case, but they arenโ€™t the only factor a judge considers.

In Texas, the courtโ€™s focus is always on what is in the best interest of the child. Understanding how a childโ€™s preference may be considered can help parents know what to expect.

Have questions about custody or conservatorship?
CR Law Center is here to help. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’œ Happy National Parents Day Off! ๐Ÿ’œ

We know the name is a little funny because, as a parent, do you ever really get a day off? There are always lunches to pack, homework to check, practices to get to, laundry to fold, and someone who needs you.

So today isnโ€™t necessarily about taking the whole day off, itโ€™s about giving yourself a little credit for everything you do.

Give yourself some grace. Do something for YOU!!! Reward yourself! Take a few minutes to recharge! And most importantly, pat yourself on the back! Youโ€™re doing a great job! ๐Ÿ’œ

Parenting isnโ€™t easy, and no parent gets it right every single day. Sometimes we all need a reminder that doing our best is enough.

From all of us at CR Law Center, Happy National Parents Day Off! ๐Ÿ’œ

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of the first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, military members, and ordinary Americans who stepped forward in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We remember the families whose lives were forever changed, those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the strength and unity our nation showed in the days that followed.

May we never forget those we lost. May we continue to honor their memory. And may God continue to bless the United States of America. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐Ÿ’œ SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL RECOVERY MONTH & SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH ๐Ÿ’œ

September is a reminder that behind every struggle is a person, a family, and a story that matters.
National Recovery Month recognizes the strength and courage of those working toward recovery from substance use and mental health challenges. Su***de Prevention Month reminds us how important it is to check on the people around us, listen without judgment, and remind one another that asking for help is a sign of strength.
At CR Law Center, we know that some of lifeโ€™s most difficult seasons can involve divorce, custody battles, family changes, grief, financial stress, and uncertainty about the future. During those seasons, it is especially important to remember:

๐Ÿ’œ Recovery is possible.
๐Ÿ’œ Healing takes time.
๐Ÿ’œ Asking for help is okay.
๐Ÿ’œ Your life has value.
๐Ÿ’œ You do not have to face a difficult season alone.

This month, we encourage our community to check on a friend, reach out to someone who may be struggling, celebrate those walking the road of recovery, and never underestimate the difference a simple โ€œAre you okay?โ€ can make.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health or su***de crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
CR Law Center is proud to support the individuals and families in our community, not only through their legal challenges, but through lifeโ€™s most important moments. ๐Ÿ’œ
