Colorado voters overwhelmingly passed Prop 128 to ensure violent offenders serve almost their entire sentences, but lawmakers moved in the opposition direction when they passed SB26-115. In a new column published this weekend in the The Gazette, CDAC teamed up with Rocky Mountain Victim Law Center to explain what this law means for victims. Last week, RMvlc had the privilege of partnering with Advocates of Routt County for a two-day training focused on strengthening the knowledge and skills of advocates and allied professionals in northern Colorado.

Together, we explored the many legal issues crime victims may encounter and how advocates can consistently provide accurate, reliable legal information. These conversations are critical to ensuring that no matter where victims seek support in Colorado, they receive consistent information, meaningful guidance, and a clear path to resources.

We are grateful to the dedicated advocates, service providers, and community partners who invested their time, shared their expertise, and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving services for victims and survivors.
