⚠️ School is Back in Session This Week ⚠️
Know When to Stop for School Buses! 🚌
As students return to school, let's all do our part to keep them safe. Under Florida Statute 316.172, drivers are required to stop for a school bus displaying its stop sign and flashing red lights:
🛑 You MUST stop:
• On all two-lane roads.
• On multi-lane roads that are not divided by a raised median, physical barrier, or an unpaved median at least 5 feet wide.
If you are traveling in the opposite direction on a roadway divided by a raised median, physical barrier, or an unpaved median at least 5 feet wide, you are not required to stop. However, you should still slow down, remain alert, and use caution.
Children can be unpredictable when entering or exiting a school bus. Stay focused, eliminate distractions, and help us keep our students safe as they travel to and from school.
Together, we can make this a safe year one for everyone.
