First Choice Notary Svcs. is looking to build a small network of dependable individuals in the **St. Charles County and surrounding St. Louis areas** who are interested in serving as witnesses for document signings.

Many of my appointments involve estate planning documents, such as wills and other important legal paperwork, where witnesses may be needed.

**Who I'm looking for:**
- Dependable, punctual, and professional individuals
- People with flexible schedules, including occasional evenings and weekends

For years, I worked in healthcare privacy, and one of the hardest conversations I sometimes had with parents started with:

**“Your child is 18 now.”**

Their son or daughter might have been in the hospital after an accident or receiving medical treatment. The parent was worried and wanted information.

I have three affidavit appointments this week involving pension documentation. In each case, paperwork needs to be notarized as part of confirming information about the person receiving the pension, including that the person is still living.

These are the kinds of documents people don’t think much about, until one shows up in the mail with instructions and a deadline.

And sometimes the person who needs to sign isn’t driving anymore, lives in a senior community, or simply doesn’t want to make another trip just to find a notary.

There are some appointments where people aren't looking for a notary because they have plenty of time and nothing else going on.

Quite the opposite.

They're coordinating family members.

Talking with an attorney.

Driving back and forth to a facility.

Trying to understand paperwork.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, something needs to be notarized.

My job isn't to add another complication.

It's to show up prepared, communicate clearly, stay within my role as the notary, and make my part of the process as easy as I can.

A mobile notary appointment isn't always as simple as walking in, getting a signature and leaving.

Especially in a hospital, rehabilitation center or senior living community.

The signer may be tired. A witness may be running late. The family may have questions. Something about the documents may need to be clarified before anyone signs.

That's when slowing down matters.

I'd rather take the extra time to make sure the notarization can be completed properly than rush because the appointment was supposed to take 30 minutes.

Some appointments just need a little more patience.

That's part of the service.

An attorney's client can't travel to the office.

A document needs to be completed before someone leaves town.

That's why I offer evening and weekend appointments.

How many places should you have to drive to just to find a notary?

A client called me yesterday because she needed documents notarized quickly for an immigration matter.

She went to UPS first. They weren’t able to help her with the documents she had.

So she went to her bank.

The notary was on vacation and wouldn’t be back until the following Tuesday. And even if she waited, she wasn’t sure whether the bank’s notary would be able to handle the documents she needed.

So she called me.

Banks and shipping stores can be convenient for many notarizations. If their notary is there and their policies allow them to notarize your particular documents, great.

But sometimes that’s not what happens.

And with the price of gas right now, who wants to spend the afternoon driving from one place to another trying to find out?

Sometimes the biggest part of mobile notary service isn't the notarization.

It's what the family **doesn't** have to do.

In this case, my client's parents needed power of attorney and estate planning documents notarized.

Instead of getting them ready, putting them in the car and taking them out in the heat, I came to their home in O'Fallon.

Afterward, their daughter left this review:

“Not having to gather my parents and take them out in unbearable heat was the best convenience.”
