I’ll be presenting a seminar hosted by the Lake Isabella & Bodfish Property Owner’s Assoc. on Thursday August 27 at 6:30 PM.
We’ll talk about the legal and practical things your family needs to know when you pass away. It’s a serious topic, but you know me — we keep it honest, helpful, and just light enough to make it manageable.

Going to 🎉toot my own horn 🎉. Went in to record documents today. I was chatting with the employee (as usual) and she dropped, “You are one of the only attorneys who knows what they are doing.”

That just made my day. I work hard to do my job right, and I know what a mess deed work can be, and I’ve had plenty of clients either grateful we caught poorly drafted deeds when we do their trust or else they hire me to help fix them in court if that is the road we must take.

Not the first time I’ve heard this compliment from the Recorder’s office- it just makes me happy that others who deal with this paperwork recognize the effort we put into our deeds.

I am presenting at a workshop entitled, “I’ve died, now what does my family do?”

It is part of Senior Citizen’s, Inc (SCI) “Now What” series. The first working title was, “I’ve died, now what…” which just makes me chuckle. So many different directions and jokes we could take with that! When we talk about death and dying, we take it seriously around here…but also we’ve got to keep it light and humorous when we can or else it is too heavy.

Come and join me on May 06 at 11am. I’ll be in the Senior Center. I’ll bring cookies. 🍪😬

Come visit with me and learn all about the legal things as well as the practical things that need to happen when you pass away. I’ll have a handout to help you get organized.

“I’ve died, now what does my family do?” I was invited to present, and I am inviting you to join me! May 6th, 2026 (this coming Wednesday) at the Senior Center in Lake Isabella. It starts at 11am and the address is 6405 Lake Isabella Blvd.

Come find out how to handle things after someone passes…and what your family can expect to have happen. We will cover everything we can! There will be handouts 📝 to take home to help you get started organizing your things so your loved ones aren’t left in the dark.

Unrelated but also important: I am a big fan of cookies, so expect a little treat to eat while we talk about the hard things. 🍪
