I just received a call from 337-420-0889. The caller ID showed Baldwin, Louisiana.

The caller claimed there was a problem with my Google Business Profile, said they needed to “verify” my business information, and warned that my listing could be removed.

As soon as I asked how I could confirm the call was legitimate and not a scam, they immediately hung up.

Business owners, be careful. Google may contact businesses about verification issues, which gives scammers an easy story to use. Do not provide passwords, verification codes, payment information, or access to your Google account.

Hang up and check your Google Business Profile directly through your own account.
