The Young Lawyers Section sure knows how to have a good time while learning the law! Thanks to Lance Beal of Beal & Hebert for presenting a CLE on Criminal Trial Strategy. The YLS Summer Social followed and was generously sponsored by Dr. Brett Venable of Recovery ChiroMed, Lafayette Bone and Joint Clinic, Justice Medical Funding, and Vermilion Title. YLS is open to all current members of the Lafayette Bar Association who are under 40 or who have been practicing law for less than five years.

CLE presentation from 5:30–6:30 p.m. featuring Lance Beal and Alan Haney, who will discuss Criminal Trial Strategy with a summer social to follow from 6:30–8:30 p.m.

On May 19, 2026, the legal community gathered at the Louisiana Supreme Court to recognize outstanding champions of pro bono service during the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Pro Bono and Children's Law Awards ceremony.

The Friend of Pro Bono award honors attorneys, law firms, organizations, and individuals who have made significant contributions to the enhancement and promotion of pro bono legal services for those in need across Louisiana.
