🚨 NO PAY NO PLAY in LOUISIANA – and it just got WAY worse 😳
If you drive without insurance here, even if the other driver is 100% at fault and totals your car… you’re screwed on the first $100,000.
That’s right—Louisiana law (updated August 1, 2025) says:
✅ No recovery for the first $100,000 in bodily injury (medical bills, ER visits, surgery, lost wages, pain & suffering)
✅ No recovery for the first $100,000 in property damage (your car repair or replacement)
You pay it. Out of pocket. Even if you did nothing wrong.
This is No Pay, No Play. You didn’t pay for insurance… so you don’t get to “play” and collect that first huge layer from the at-fault driver’s insurance company.
I’m in Lafayette seeing this hit people hard every week. Minimum liability is cheap compared to a $100k hospital bill or totaled truck you can’t replace.
Exceptions exist (DWI, hit-and-run, intentional wreck, etc.), but don’t bet your future on one.
If this video just made your stomach drop… good. Go check your insurance RIGHT NOW. Call your agent, switch carriers, whatever it takes. Don’t wait for the wreck to teach you.
Drop 🔥 if you’re insured and protected. Drop ❌ if you’re rolling the dice. Tag every Louisiana driver you know—your cousin in New Orleans, your coworker in Lafayette, your buddy in Shreveport. This law doesn’t care where you are in the state.
Full statute: La. R.S. 32:866. Not legal advice—talk to a lawyer or your insurance pro for your situation. But damn… don’t sleep on this.
