Please follow the below link to access the contact information for the Senators from Lafayette Parish. Please call them, email them, etc., and express your disapproval of SB 358 (electronic notary).

Tell them to listen to Louisiana notaries! Tell them you are disappointed in Judiciary Committee A because they didn't even bother to hear what we had to say.

And tell them that you are disappointed that 5 of the 9 committee members stood in the hallway because they didn't want to vote on, or get involved with, SB 358!!!!

Most important, TELL THEM YOU ARE REGISTERED VOTERS!

Call them as soon as possible. We don't know when they will vote!

The proposed Electronic Notary bill was heard this morning in Senate Judiciary Committee A.

It passed.

Next stop is the House Committee.

I will provide more information as to when as soon as I know something. But for now, it is incredibly important that you begin calling your representatives now, so that we can stop this bill!!!

We have to pull together and fight this bill if the majority of us notaries don't want to be put out of business completely!

Dear Friends: Happy Easter to all of you!

State Senate Bill #358 is scheduled for hearing on Tuesday. This is bad legislation for the people of Louisiana who use notaries. It will open the door for more identify theft and abuse, in my opinion. Please contact the members of this committee BEFORE TUESDAY and let them know you do not support this bill. Below is a link with the contact information for the members. There are 7 State Senators on the committee.

This is a very good article about E Notaries. There is legislation currently submitted to both the Louisiana House & Senate which would create E Notaries. This legislation is poorly written and could leave Louisiana citizens open to a great deal of fraud. Please call your Louisiana Representative or Senator and tell them you are against House Bill #572 and Senate Bill #358. Tell them it is not good for Louisiana citizens. Thank you!
