When a drunk driver runs into you, this is not like a normal case. You will likely be involved in 2 separate cases. The civil case for your personal injuries and the criminal case. You will need a personal injury attorney for the civil case. But the criminal case, your local district attorney will handle that for you. The district attorney will prosecute the criminal drunk driver who caused the crash. You will be a witness in that case, as you are the victim. These two cases run independently and your personal injury attorney does not control what happens in the criminal case, nor does your personal injury attorney work on the criminal case.

Remember, you're in a car and if there is a collision with a pedestrian, it can be serious. Regardless of who is at fault, no one wants to be involved in a crash. Stay alert.
