⚖️ Attorney Spotlight!!

Barry Boudreaux has been with the Gachassin firm since 2019 and practicing law for more than 35 years. Barry graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1980. In 1983, he graduated from Southern University Law School, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board.

His areas of practice at Gachassin have primarily been defense of medical providers and admiralty and maritime defense. However, he has vast experience in many areas of law. Early in his career, his practice was primarily personal injury. He then joined Henderson, Reilly & Boudreaux, where he became a partner and owner. The scope of his practice expanded to the defense of clients in maritime, medical malpractice, general liability, products liability, and automobile liability litigation.

Barry was born and raised in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, and practiced law there until 2022, at which time he and his wife, Kathy, moved to Lafayette. He loves spending time with his 2 sons and 7 grandchildren. He also has a passion for music, playing saxophone, and playing golf.

Phyllis Boudreaux has worked with Gachassin Law Firm since joining the firm in 1997 as the General Service Director. She is a native of Broussard, LA and resides in Lafayette, LA.

Through the years, Phyllis has volunteered for many local community fundraising events. Her greatest passion is the celebration of Mardi Gras. Phyllis is a longtime member of Krewe of Xanadu in Lafayette, LA having served on the Board of Directors and many committees. She is also a member of Krewe Des Amis in Youngsville, LA. Phyllis reigned as Queen of Krewe des Amis in 2016.

Phyllis’ favorite hobby is time gathered with friends to create all things pretty.

⚖️ Attorney Spotlight!!

Dawn Fuqua has been with Gachassin Law Firm since 2018. She has been practicing law in the Acadiana area for more than 35 years. Dawn earned her undergraduate degree in 1981 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She went on to earn a Juris Doctor from Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, in 1985.

Dawn’s main area of practice for Gachassin is medical malpractice defense. She practices in state and federal courts. Dawn’s experience includes oil and gas litigation, commercial litigation, environmental litigation, mass-tort litigation, and regulatory practice. Dawn served as a State of Louisiana Administrative Law Judge from 2009 to 2014, hearing general jurisdiction cases in accordance with the Louisiana Administrative Procedure Act. She also served as a panel judge on the State of Louisiana Ethics Adjudicatory Board from 2011 to 2013. Dawn served as law clerk to the Honorable Judge Patrick Michot, Fifteenth Judicial District Court, Lafayette Parish, Louisiana from 2014 to 2018.

Dawn is active in the community serves on the board of directors for several non-profit agencies. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors with United Way of Acadiana, having previously served as chairperson. Dawn also serves as the Chairperson for the Policy Counsel of the United Way of Acadiana Early Head Start Program. Dawn is the past president of the Acadiana Inns of Court, where she is currently a member. Dawn is a graduate of Leadership Lafayette, Class XIII, and served as the organization’s Board Chair. Dawn also is a volunteer with the Homeless Alliance.

Dawn is dedicated to her family and friends. She has been married to Milton “Mitt” Fuqua for nearly 40 years. They have one son, Christopher, who is currently working with Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. In her spare time, Dawn likes to volunteer, garden, and spend time with her dog, Scooter.

Lisa Mouton

Lisa was born in Lafayette and now lives in Leroy with her husband of over 25 years, Will. Together they have a daughter, Sydney, and a son, Seth. Lisa and her family are active members in The Bayou Church. In her spare time, she and her family love UL sports, boat rides, swimming, and spending time with friends.
