De Gisi Law Group is closed on Friday, January 30, 2026, in solidarity with the nationwide call to pause normal business operations in protest of the ongoing federal immigration enforcement actions (Operation Metro Surge) in Minnesota.
Our firm is committed to upholding the rule of law, which requires that law enforcement actions be constitutional, transparent, and accountable to the public. The current surge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents—characterized by reports of aggressive tactics, including the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, and the alleged harassment of residents—threatens the foundational legal principles our democracy relies upon.
We are closing to:
Protest the Lack of Accountability: Demand a fair, independent investigation into the recent fatalities involving federal agents.
Defend the Rule of Law: Assert that federal agents are not above the law, and that constitutional rights to safety and freedom from unreasonable, violent, and militarized actions must be respected.
Support Community Safety: Take a stand against the dehumanization and fear inflicted upon Minnesota's immigrant neighbors and communities.
As officers of the court, we believe it is our professional obligation to act when legal norms are violated and to stand in solidarity with those demanding justice. We stand with the community, businesses, and legal professionals protesting these actions and calling for the immediate withdrawal of these federal operations from Minnesota.
Reopening: We will resume normal business operations on Monday, February 2, 2026
