One of the biggest frustrations from sellers right now is that buyers’ agents aren’t leaving feedback after showings.
I understand why that’s frustrating. You cleaned the house, left for the showing, waited for strangers to walk through your home, and now you want to know:
What did they think?!
But here’s the other side of it.
The conversation between a buyer and their agent should often remain confidential, especially while that buyer is still deciding whether they want to make an offer.
Imagine getting feedback that says, “The house smelled weird,” “They hated the kitchen,” or something else that feels personal or offensive.
Then two days later, that same buyer writes an offer.
Are you going to look at that offer differently because you’re already annoyed by what they said? Probably.
And a buyer’s agent can also put themselves in a difficult position by sharing their client’s thoughts or negotiating position without permission.
If buyers LOVE the house, their agent will usually be calling, asking questions, requesting information, or discussing next steps.
So while feedback can be helpful, sellers shouldn’t hang too much emotion on it.
Sometimes no feedback is feedback. And sometimes no feedback is simply an agent protecting their client’s conversations until they’re ready to make a decision.
