Laurie Williams, Store Manager at 2120 in Clairmont, made an announcement around 9 a.m. this morning to all store employees via the loudspeaker. Her store, located next to the Reading Cinemas in Clairmont Square, has been voted the best in customer service out of all of the supermarkets in the region. I talked with "Sarah", who works at the Starbucks kiosk inside the Vons, about the announcement, and although she has only been at her job for 3 weeks, she was very happy to hear the news. She acknowledged the competition is tough but, when asked about her thoughts on why she decided to come to the winning store in Clairmont she said "I'm stoked about that!" The West Point Loma store on Midway Drive was also recognized as outstanding. The fate of the company, however, rests in the hands of prosecutors who are expected to make additional filings this week, in the case that has sparked multiple homicide investigations at several of the company's other stores.
