It is great to see so many visitors coming out to the park to enjoy the outdoors, but we wanted to make a friendly reminder about park rules regarding dogs. Dogs are welcome at Seven Islands State Birding Park, but MUST REMAIN on a PHYSICAL leash and under control of their owner at all times. The park is managed for bird conservation, especially grassland species such as the Northern Bobwhite Quail. Many of our feathered friends that are found in the park nest and/or spend a lot of time on or near the ground. It is critically important to keep dogs on a physical leash and under control at all times so they do not harm, harass, or interfere with the wildlife of the park. Park staff also wants all visitors to feel safe at the park while enjoying the outdoors. Some visitors may feel threatened by dogs, especially if they are off-leash. Keeping your dog on a physical leash is not only a park rule, but also a state law TCA 44-8-408. Violators of the leash law/park rule will be subject to fines.
