Givens grew up in East Tennessee and graduated from West High School in 1995 before attending the University of Tennessee in 1999. Upon graduating from UT, he enrolled in the University of Tennessee College of Law. Givens took a job in Dyersburg, TN, with a local child support office. In 2003 he moved to Memphis, TN, and worked as an associate in a small law firm before moving back to Knoxville in
2007. Givens worked at a large bankruptcy firm and another firm that primarily represented creditors. Working at multiple law firms over the past 19 years allowed Mr. Givens to learn many different areas of law. He literally appeared in courts in over 80 counties in Tennessee which gives him a unique perspective on Tennessee courts. Having represented creditors in the past allows him to more effectively represent consumers in debt collection efforts now. Although primary working in bankruptcy and on consumer defense cases he also has an extensive amount of experience in Family Law, Personal Injury and Criminal cases.
