Happy 4th of July!
Today, my friends, husband and I attended the Farragut 4th of July parade. Prior to the parade, Farragut had a foot race. While we were waiting for the parade to start, we were talking about the heat and our aches and pain. I noticed one of the runners was a double leg amputee with his service dog. God bless him. This man did not let his aches and pains stop him. He is an inspiration. What a lesson.

Today, I watched the solar eclipse at Shangri-la Therapeutic Academy of Riding. Mother Nature is awesome! Because the eclipse was expected, we were all prepared with the special glasses. In life, there are things that are unexpected, such as an accident, illness, or premature death. Today, April 15th, I, along with over one million people, watched April, the giraffe, finally give birth. It was awesome to see this calf come into the world; walk on its wobbly legs; meet Dad; and then romp around in the pen. April is lucky because she does not have to worry about who will look after her calf. Not only does estate planning help you divide up your assets, but you can also select the Guardian of your minor children. I enjoy helping people plan their estate.

I first came to Gatlinburg, Tennessee in 1969. In 1973, My Mother, and my Aunt, built homes in Gatlinburg, which were above Ober Gatlinburg. My family has lived in Sevier County since 1973.

Today, my husband and I visited Gatlinburg and saw how the wild fires damaged Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.It breaks your heart to see homes destroyed and landmarks that you remembered are no longer there. The fire was selective. Fortunately, the homes that my family has or are living in are safe.

My heart goes out to the Sevier County victims.

Today is National Grandparents Day. I have many great memories spending time with my Grandpa and Grandma, on both sides. I did have one special Grandpa. He taught me to enjoy each day but to think about the future. I am proud to say that I started my first year at Purdue University in 1973 and in the spring of 1974 Grandpa came back to Purdue to celebrate his 50th graduation anniversary. My Grandparents thought about their legacy. Have you thought about your legacy? I would like to help you protect your estate to give to your legacy.
