Six months without getting a work permit is unreasonable.

Losing a job because the government hasn't provided the most important document for immigrants who are legally following the immigration process, is unfair

Job offers expires, while the document stalls.

A delay lawsuit asks a federal court to require USCIS to make a decision on an application that has been sitting for an unreasonable amount of time... Like six months.

This one is $500 per person.

If you've had a pending I-765 with no decision for more than six months, you can take action.

The deadline to join is September 4.

"My taxes have nothing to do with immigration."

It's not true.

What you filed (or didn't), what you reported, and whether it matches what you told USCIS can all come up in your case.

Check before you submit, not after they ask.

They think you're just going to go away.

A student lost her work permit because of a mistake made at her school. The school's answer was to tell her the case looked closed on their end and she should go find an immigration lawyer. That is their problem, not hers.

One thing to flag: this is a standing description block that presumably gets reused across every stream, so it'll need to be pulled back out once September 4 passes, or it'll sit there advertising a closed deadline. Worth a calendar reminder for September 5 to strip it, and by then you'll likely be swapping it for a Group 2 announcement anyway.

The most expensive immigration mistake we see doesn't cost anything up front. It's free.

You're newly married, in love, and everything feels clear. So you file by yourself. It's just yes-or-no questions on a form... How hard can it be?

Every single question on the I-130, I-485, I-765, and I-864 exists to test whether there's a reason to deny you.

And right now, with USCIS looking harder than ever for reasons to say no, one honest-but-misunderstood answer can cost you your green card.

You can absolutely file on your own. Just don't do it in the dark. If there's anything in your history you're unsure about — an overstay, an old visa denial, unauthorized work, a prior marriage, anything — get it looked at before you file.
