In September, Jay and Quinn of The Benson Law Firm took the day off with friends, Nate Farnsworth of Kirksville and Ethan Scherer of Kansas City, for the Celebrity Golf Classic held in Kirksville at KCC in support of the Hannibal Regional Foundation and the development of the new Cancer Center coming soon to Kirksville. The new Hannibal Regional Cancer Center will enable local cancer patients in need of treatment to avoid long travel out of Kirksville, sometimes daily, to receive their treatments with more ease locally and avoid the hardship of travel.

The Benson Law Firm had some fun this week outside the office with former Kansas City Royals baseball star, Brian McRae, who joined them and their team in Hannibal Regional Foundation’s first annual The Ville Celebrity Golf Classic held in Kirksville. The Benson Law Firm was honored to participate as a corporate sponsor for a great cause supporting the Inspire Hope Campaign raising support for cancer victims and their families and the expense associated with the disease.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, first and second graders from Mary Immaculate School were treated to a mock trial of the State of Missouri v. The Big Bad Wolf. David Rouner, who was instrumental in the planning and organization of the trial, served as prosecutor while our very own Quinn Benson served as defense attorney to Mr. Wolf. Judge Matt Wilson presided.

Did Mr. Wolf blow the Little Piggies’ houses down, or was it the tornado in the area that afternoon? After many minutes of deliberating, the day ended with a hung jury. Sources tell us that Mr. Rouner intends to retry the matter. Stay tuned for more.
