Key reminders when filing 2022 Taxes:

Make sure to gather all tax paperwork and records for accuracy.
Make sure to report all types of income on the tax return to avoid taxes being delayed or having to do amendments.

Don't be in such of a rush to file. Make sure you have all your tax documentation when filing. you don't want to get caught up in an amendment, later down the road receiving a letter from the Irs stating your audited for missed documentation that you didn't report. "Make sure you have all your documents before you file".

There are a few changes this year. Some tax credits have changed back to normal from pre-pandemic.

Child Tax Credits has changed back to $2,000 per qualifying child. The dependent care credit , has dropped back to $3,000 per child under the age of 13. An that automatic $300 charitable cash donation no longer exists.

Georgia Department of Revenue:

Income Tax Return for Georgia will begin February 1 ,2023
Please allow 90 business days to process a return and issue a refund.
All first-time Georgia income tax filers, or taxpayers who have not filed in Georgia for at least five years, will receive a paper check.
