This is the Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program Alumni Breakfast at Shaping Texas.

Now here’s our question:

How many Women’s Council of REALTORS® members can you spot in this photo?

We see A LOT. 💙

And we don’t think that’s a coincidence.

Women’s Council of REALTORS® has always been about so much more than the leadership positions we hold within our own Network. It’s about developing leaders who step up throughout our industry, our associations, and our communities.

Look around the room at almost any REALTOR® leadership event and chances are, you’re going to find Women’s Council members there.

Serving.
Leading.
Learning.
Connecting.
And preparing themselves for whatever comes next.

That says something about the caliber of leaders who are drawn to Women’s Council — but it also says something about what happens when those leaders become involved in Women’s Council.

Leadership doesn’t stop at the edge of our Network.

Women’s Council of REALTORS® Central Texas is incredibly proud to see members of our Network continuing to step up, serve, and lead throughout our REALTOR® community.

We are proud to recognize Candice O’Dell, Melissa Esau, and Christine Karr as they each take another step in leadership with the Fort Hood Area Association of Realtors.

These women have already invested their time, talents, and energy into serving our Central Texas Network, and we love seeing that commitment to leadership extend into our local Association as well. This is what involvement looks like—showing up, raising your hand, and being willing to serve where you can make a difference.

To our Women’s Council members who are also FHAAR members: we need YOU to show up on September 24!

FHAAR will hold its Quarterly Membership Meeting, including leadership elections. Members will also be asked to vote on proposed bylaws changes, and 15% of the FHAAR membership must be present in order for that vote to take place.

Your presence matters. Your voice matters. And your vote matters.

Please make plans to attend the September 24 Quarterly Membership Meeting, learn about the issues before the membership, and cast your vote.

We are proud of our leaders—and proud to be part of a Network that encourages its members to get involved, step up, and have a seat at the table.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN! 🎓💙💛

One of the things we love most about Women’s Council of REALTORS® is helping our members continue to learn, grow, and invest in themselves.

Applications are now open for the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Central Texas Rising Stars Scholarship!

Our Rising Stars Scholarship was created to help Central Texas members pursue opportunities that strengthen their professional knowledge, skills, and involvement in our industry.

⭐ Up to five scholarships may be awarded each year
⭐ Awards are up to $200 each
⭐ Applications are open NOW through October 1

If there’s a class, designation, certification, conference, or other eligible professional development opportunity you’ve been wanting to pursue, this may be your sign to go for it!

And even if you’re thinking, “I’m not sure if what I want to do qualifies…” — APPLY! Let the scholarship committee make that determination.

Who comes to mind when you think about the people who have truly made a difference in our network this year?

Maybe it’s the person who always shows up. The one who volunteers, steps in when something needs to be done, supports our events, encourages other members, or consistently finds ways to help our network grow and succeed.

Or maybe it’s a Strategic Partner who has gone beyond simply sponsoring — someone who participates, builds relationships, supports our members, and genuinely invests in the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Central Texas Network.

Those are the people we want to recognize. 💙💛

We did it, Central Texas! 💙💛

I am SO proud to share that the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Central Texas Network earned 3rd Place in the Texas Membership Contest!

This one means a little extra to me because membership growth has been such an important part of our year. Every new member represents someone choosing to take a seat at the table, build relationships, grow as a leader, and become part of what we’re building together.

And we have GROWN! From 15 members in February to 25 members today, with 11 new members joining us since January 1!

This recognition belongs to every person who invited someone to an event, shared what Women’s Council has meant to them, welcomed a new face, made a connection, or helped someone see that there was a place for them here.

And we’re not done yet.

Central Texas is growing — and we’re growing together. 💙💛

And there’s something else we’re especially excited about! Our 3rd Place recognition comes with a $200 credit toward the 2027 Women’s Council of REALTORS® Texas Orientation.

Rather than simply applying that credit to someone already serving in leadership, we want to use it to invest in what comes next.

We plan to offer the opportunity to an up-and-coming Central Texas member who wants to learn more, grow as a leader, and experience the Texas leadership retreat alongside us.

We have another BIG reason to celebrate one of our own! 💙💛

Please join the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Central Texas Network in congratulating our 2026 Membership Director, Candice O'Dell, on being selected to receive a Texas State Past President Scholarship in honor of Past National President Becky Hill!

This recognition is especially fitting for Candice. In her first year with Women’s Council, she has embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, serve, and lead. She has invested not only in understanding her own role, but in learning more about Women’s Council as a whole and how she can make an even greater impact.

We are incredibly proud to see that commitment to leadership recognized at the state level—and even more excited to watch where it takes her next.

Today we are celebrating one of our own! 💙💛

Please join the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Central Texas Network in congratulating our 2026 President-Elect, Melissa Esau, on graduating from the 2026 Women’s Council of REALTORS® Texas Lone Star Leadership Academy!

Melissa chose to invest in herself as a leader—dedicating her time to learning, growing, building relationships, and preparing herself for the opportunities ahead. And as she prepares to lead our Central Texas Network in 2027, we couldn’t be more excited to see her continue putting that growth into action.

We are incredibly proud of Melissa and all of the 2026 Lone Star Leadership Academy graduates from across Texas who made the commitment to grow as leaders together.
