Purchasing NYC real estate is a major milestone, but a sound investment requires rigorous due diligence. The exact process differs significantly depending on whether you choose a co-op or a condo.

For a co-op, this means carefully reviewing board minutes for potential issues, checking the building’s financial condition, and understanding the building’s rules. In contrast, condo buyers should mainly review the offering plan and financial statements to watch for possible future special assessments.

Don’t risk your investment. Always verify first or consult a real estate lawyer before closing a deal.
