They used what they had on hand: lime, milk, and red iron oxide (what we commonly call rust) and mixed it all together. Voila, they made a nice red paint—and at a bargain!"

Listen up folks! This is an important and often overlooked tip when buying a home. Do not open any new accounts, no credit cards, no store accounts, no new cars, even avoid changing jobs if possible while in the house buying process. All of these things can affect your credit score and debt to income ratio and ultimately turn your financing upside down! So, just hold off until after your home is closed.

How about this little nugget for ... the oldest continuously standing wooden structure in all of North America...Can you imagine what this house has seen, the memories made, the stories it could tell...

Fairbanks House, North America's oldest, continuously standing wooden structure, was built between 1637 and 1641 for tradesman Jonathan Fairbanks, his wife, and their six children. Over the course of 268 years, eight generations of the Fairbanks family have resided at the property.
