Striping work is scheduled for Hollandey Street—from Airline Highway to Reverend Richard Wilson Drive—on Thursday, September 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rolling road and lane closures will be in place while crews work. The project is expected to be completed in one day, weather permitting.

Please slow down, remain alert and follow all traffic-control devices and directions from on-site flaggers.

A disturbance in the northern Gulf now has a 70% chance of tropical development over the next 2 days as it moves toward the upper Texas/southwest Louisiana coast.

For Jefferson Parish, no significant tropical impacts are expected at this time. The main concern will be higher rain chances today and Tuesday, with some storms capable of heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding.

We’re continuing to monitor Invest 97L in the Gulf this morning.

The system is expected to move west-northwest toward southwest Louisiana and the upper Texas coast, keeping the center of the system west of Jefferson Parish based on the latest outlook.

For our area, the main concerns remain periods of heavy rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds and possible localized street flooding.

Please stay weather-aware today, especially during heavier downpours, and never drive through flooded roadways.

We’ll continue to monitor the latest updates and share any changes that could impact Jefferson Parish
