⚜️Debido a que Luisiana se gobierna por el Derecho Civil, redactar un Testamento aquí funciona de manera diferente a casi cualquier otro estado. Aquí tienes 5 reglas no negociables que debes saber: ✍🏾

1️⃣Reglas de ejecución estrictas: Debes firmar cada una de las páginas y al FINAL del documento.

2️⃣La regla de los 2 testigos: Tú, tu notario y 2 testigos deben estar en la misma habitación exactamente al mismo tiempo.

3️⃣Elige bien a los testigos: Los testigos no pueden ser beneficiarios, si lo son, podrían perder su herencia!

4️⃣La legítima hereditaria es real (Forced
Heirship): En Luisiana, los hijos 23 años o menos (o con discapacidades que califiquen) tienen derecho por ley a una porción de tus bienes.

5️⃣Bienes gananciales vs. Bienes propios: Solo
puedes testar sobre tu mitad de los bienes matrimoniales, asegúrate de que tu Testamento refleje esa diferencia!

⚜️ Because Louisiana operates under Civil Law, writing a Will here works differently than in almost any other state. Here are 5 non-negotiable rules you need to know: ✍🏾

1️⃣Strict Ex*****on Rules: You must sign every single page, and at THE END.

2️⃣The 2-Witness Rule: You, your notary, and 2 witnesses must all be in the same room at the exact same time.

3️⃣Choose Witnesses Wisely: Witnesses can't be beneficiaries—if they are, they could lose their inheritance!

4️⃣Forced Heirship is Real: In LA, children age 23 or under age 23 (or with qualifying disabilities) are entitled to a portion of your estate by law.

5️⃣Community vs. Separate Property: You can only give away your half of marital assets-make sure your Will reflects the difference!
