It's funny how every milestone in life seems to come with a brand-new set of questions.

Buying your first home makes you think differently than renting ever did. Starting a business changes how you make decisions. Growing your family shifts your priorities all over again.

Life keeps evolving, and the plans we make should evolve with it.

What's a milestone that completely changed the way you think about the future?

Let's settle a debate.

Which is worse?

A meeting that could've been an email, or an email that somehow turned into six meetings?

Some conversations are worth having. Some decisions deserve more than a quick reply.

The important ones usually benefit from sitting down and thinking them through.

What's your vote?

It's easy to confuse being busy with being prepared.

Our calendars fill up with meetings, errands, deadlines, and everything else life throws our way. We check things off one by one and feel productive, but sometimes the most important things are the ones that never seem urgent enough to make the list.

Planning for your family's future or protecting your business often falls into that category. It doesn't demand your attention today, but you'll be glad you made time for it tomorrow.

Which one comes more naturally to you? Staying busy or staying prepared?

Some of the most valuable things in your life aren't worth anything on paper.

It could be your grandmother's recipe box, the photo albums, a handwritten letter, or the watch your dad wore every day.

Some things have very little financial value but mean absolutely everything to the people who receive them.

Estate planning isn't only about passing down assets. It's also about making sure the meaningful things find the right home.

What's something you'd never want your family to accidentally overlook?

Imagine your calendar could talk.

Would it say you're making time for the things that matter most?

Meetings.
Appointments.
Deadlines.
Family events.

Somewhere between all of that are the things that protect everything you've worked for.

Sometimes the most important appointments are the ones that don't feel urgent until they are.

What's one thing you've been meaning to schedule?

When people think about legacy, they often think about money.

However, if you've built a business, your reputation, leadership, and relationships are just as much a part of what you leave behind.

The legal documents matter. So do the values behind them.

When people talk about your business years from now, what do you hope they say?

Business owners, when did you realize people actually expected YOU to have the answers?

Seems a bit obvious at first, but when you are living in the moment, it might be a shift. Suddenly, people are looking to you, and you have to be there.

Whether it's about vacation days or contract terms, you are the person with the answers.

If you need help finding those answers, we could be your guide.

When was the first time you felt the shift?

Take a second and think about something you've built that you're genuinely proud of.

It could be your business, family, home, or a life you've worked hard to create.

You can spend so much time building that you forget to protect it. Be proud of what you've made, but make sure it's cared for in the far future, too.

What have you built that you are proud of?

What's something your parents organized that you didn't appreciate until you had to do it yourself?

Growing up, we never really thought about all the little things that just existed and adapted as we grew up, like important documents, insurance details, or even family records. Parents and adults just knew it.

Now, suddenly, you're the adult. You're the parent. You're the business owner. Now it's your turn.

What's something your parents handled that you have a whole new appreciation for now?

Every family has that one conversation nobody really wants to start.

Do you know why? It's awkward. That's it. No one wants to talk about inevitable events as we grow older or big-picture estate details. It's clunky and awkward. However, it's necessary.

The best way to get over it is to break the ice. Just a simple, "So, what's going to happen to the hutch?" can be a great opener.

Why do you think certain family conversations are so easy to put off?
