"Northland Injury Law listened to me and took my case when others would not! Steve Mowry was a great support and communicated with me throughout the entire process. The staff was both personable and professional. They were sympathetic and treated me respectfully. I felt like my privacy was just as important to them as it was to me. I was glad I found Northland Injury Law and Steve Mowry to represent me. Shelly McEnroe
"Eric Bartlett Atty- Best call I made after my fall. He took overhead photos that quickly made the difference in how the case proceeded. He made me aware of all my options answered all my questions. Thanks Eric! Christa Curry

"I WOULD and WILL recommend them to anyone. Stephen Mowry is a great person, very down to earth, easy to work with, concerned and caring. Just a word of advice to those seeking legal help. BE PATIENT! These guys work hard and the wheels of the legal system turn slow. Don’t grow impatient or angry with your legal help. Trust me they are doing their best for YOU! Brent Riddle
"Not the usual representation of what people portray of what an attorney is. These are very helpful and down to earth people at this office that has your best interest in mind. Not just my personal experience with them but have had several close friends use them as well and couldn’t be happier. Always had me an answer in a timely manner without a bunch of runaround like I had had in the past with others. If you want a good smooth case and not just be another Number then I would highly recommend these guys. Michael Van Brunt
"Steve and his office did an amazing job with my settlement in regards to a work related injury. I was always able to get ahold of Steve and he answered any question I asked him. No one else I would recommend other than Steve. He even took less of a percentage to help me out. He is unequivocally, the best lawyer this side of the Mississippi. Melissa Decker
"I had an issue with my employer not wanting to cover workman’s comp for an on the job injury. I called this law firm to find out if they could help. They answered all my questions and helped me through the process. If I ever had a question I would call or email and they would respond quickly. The whole settlement seemed to resolve quicker than what I expected. I would definitely use them again in the future if needed!

The Lyft driver had just tapped 'end trip' near Vivion and NE 41st when his bumper caught a cyclist merging into the lane.

A moment earlier, before he ended the trip, that same crash falls under Missouri's $1,000,000 commercial policy, the coverage tied to an active trip that runs from ride acceptance to drop-off. A moment later, with the app logged off, his own personal auto insurance carries the claim instead. And if he'd simply logged back on to wait for a match instead of logging out, the number that applies is $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident, not seven figures.

Which tier applies isn't settled by the police report. It comes down to app timestamps and trip records, the kind of data an adjuster pulls before your file even lands on a desk.

You're riding home after a summer shift, sun still up, when a delivery truck cuts left across the intersection ahead of you. No warning. What's left afterward is whichever camera caught it, and that camera isn't going to wait around for you to ask.

A business camera near an intersection typically holds onto footage for days to weeks, sometimes longer, depending on the system. A truck's own onboard camera and its electronic logs can disappear within days, sometimes just hours, unless someone sends the carrier a letter telling them to preserve it.

Whichever camera caught that turn often ends up shaping how fault gets split. Under Missouri's comparative negligence rule, a percentage of fault shifted onto you reduces your recovery rather than erasing it.

The earlier in the case, the more options you have. Call us: 816-400-4878.

One of the first questions an adjuster may ask after a Northland motorcycle crash is whether you were wearing a helmet. It sounds simple, but it isn't.

Missouri's helmet law requires riders and passengers to wear an approved helmet unless they are 21 or older and can show proof of financial responsibility and health insurance. A defendant generally must present expert testimony that your injuries would have been less severe with a helmet before non-use can reduce damages, and even then it only reduces how much you recover, not whether you have a claim.

Under Missouri's pure comparative negligence rule, any fault you bear reduces your recovery by that percentage; there's no cutoff that wipes out your claim. Insurers often ask about helmet use in recorded statements, along with speed and visibility, because those details can affect payouts.

A friend's mother left her grocery cart in the aisle the second she got the text that her son had gone down at a Northland intersection.

By the time she reached him, EMS already had him on a gurney. She pulled out her phone and photographed the vehicles before anyone moved them, the debris near the curb, and the skid marks toward the shoulder.

In left-turn claims, what often carries more weight than the police report is whether someone photographed the road surface and traffic signs. Missouri's pure comparative negligence rule means even if you share fault you can still recover - damages are reduced proportionally; there is no 50% or 51% cutoff. When we get photos early, the case already looks different.

If the intersection's already been cleared, call us: 816-400-4878.

That intersection near Barry Road where someone sideswiped your car and vanished? Missouri law still gives you a path forward.

Your own uninsured motorist coverage can apply when the at-fault driver is never found. And here's something most people miss: UM coverage follows you as a person, not your vehicle. It may protect you whether you were driving, a passenger, or even on foot.

One step right now: review your auto policy. Many KC Northland drivers carry higher UM limits than they realize.
