I joke, but I really, really want to help my clients avoid buyer’s remorse when it comes to their homes. 💔

Luckily, there’s a question you can ask yourself to remorse-proof your real estate decisions:

“Would I be upset if this home were off-market tomorrow?”

If you’re feeling like the answer is a lukewarm yes or a no, that’s your sign to keep looking.

But if it’s a HUGE yes... then we’ll work together to develop a persuasive offer so you can snag that house! ✅

As an agent, I’ve seen all sorts of ~creative~ things done in homes. 😅

Those experiences have led me to put together a list of the things I will never do to my home.

Here’s the list:

1. Loud paint colors
2. Converting a garage
3. Over landscaping
4. Following bold kitchen trends
5. Trendy flooring
6. Ignoring maintenance
7. Wallpaper in the main rooms
8. Keep popcorn ceilings
9. DIYing home renovations
10. Not thinking about lighting

You might think the thing that turns buyers off the most is an ugly paint color or boring landscaping.

But it’s actually spaces that feel cluttered and cramped, which make it hard for buyers to imagine their lives in your home.

When buyers can’t see themselves in the space, they often won’t make an offer. 😕

Want to avoid this? Try these 3 tricks:

1. Remove your personal items and decor
2. Do a big declutter
3. Move your furniture around to highlight the best features of the space

The truth is that the first 2 weeks your home spends on the market are by far the most important.

If your home isn’t marketed right or priced well, it can become stagnant. 😨

When buyers see a stagnant listing, they tend to view it as a red flag and typically avoid it.

Making those first 2 weeks count is the way to make sure you have a successful sale.

You can show your home off in its best light with a few strategic moves like:

- Decluttering 📦
- Adding curb appeal
- Doing low-cost upgrades
