We’ve seen several posts discussing this and confirmed the dangers are real per one of our local attorneys.
Tennessee Law, 39-13-605 makes it felony to share adult video content of another without their permission, even heavily redacted or censored. Those who shared, posted, or disseminated the local bank scenes of copulation could be looking at serious legal or criminal charges. Per a local attorney, hundreds or even thousands of indicated parties may be named if subpoena requests to social media platforms are fulfilled. Such actions could generate hundreds of thousands if not millions in attorney fees and fine revenue for local governments and the state, across Tennessee. Social Media platforms have taken strict corrective action on those that shared the video on their platforms with a serious community standards violation that may last up to a year. Depending on your current strike count with different platforms, this violation could also result in the suspension or deletion of your social media account.
If you uploaded the content you are advised to contact an attorney before deleting the content (if still up) to prevent possible charges of destroying evidence. While we understand theres billions of these types of videos, the local attention and viral nature of this incident may prompt action by authorities, the participants, or even the bank.
