The Be a Santa to a Senior giving tree is up and loaded with tags at the Mentor Municipal Center lobby for senior citizens in need right here in Lake County.

Gift tags include requests for simple things like bath towels, dust pans, toiletries, stamps, and clothing. In addition, each senior will receive a letter, handwritten by a local honor society student, a handmade card, and a phone call.

Please choose a tag, or tags, and purchase the gift listed. When you are finished shopping, please return the gift (with the tag attached to it) to the box located next to the tree no later than December 5, 2025.

The Mentor Municipal Center is located at 8500 Civic Center Boulevard, Mentor OH 44060 and is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland will be hosting a "Know Your Housing Rights" seminar at various times on May 15, 2025 at the American Legion Post 103 on W. 19th St. This presentation by Legal Aid attorneys will provide tenants with the tools they need to understand their rights and responsibilities, including:

• An introduction to the basics of landlord/tenant law;
• An overview of rights that tenants have when facing poor housing conditions;
• Information about how to make your voices heard and contact the right people for help;
